'Pride' Grilled Veggie Skewers

Picture
Nudists should celebrate gay pride month along with all members of the LGBTQ+ community (btw: there are many in the LGBTQ+ community that  are proud and active nudists! )

Both communities share a common goal of promoting acceptance, equality, and freedom of expression.

Just as nudists advocate for body positivity and breaking down societal taboos surrounding nudity, the LGBTQ+ community fights for the rights and recognition of individuals regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. By celebrating gay pride, nudists can stand in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community, embracing diversity, inclusivity, and the right to live authentically and proudly.

Together, we can amplify the message of self-acceptance, respect, and love for all individuals, regardless of how they choose to express themselves or live their lives!
Ingredients:
  • An assorted rainbow of colorful vegetables (such as bell peppers, zucchini, cherry tomatoes, red onions, mushrooms, eggplant, red onion)
  • Olive oil
  • Balsamic vinegar
  • Garlic powder
  • Fresh herbs chopped or dried seasonings (such as thyme, rosemary, or basil, or blends like ‘Italian seasoning’)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Wooden or metal skewers
Instructions:
  1. Prepare the vegetables: Wash and cut the vegetables into bite-sized pieces. You can choose a variety of vegetables based on your preference. Make sure they are all roughly the same size so that they cook evenly.
  2. Preheat the grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  3. Marinate the vegetables: In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, balsamic vinegar, seasonings, salt, and pepper. Whisk the marinade until well combined. Add the cut vegetables to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the marinade. Let the vegetables marinate for about 15-20 minutes.
  4. Prepare the skewers: If you're using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 15-20 minutes to prevent them from burning on the grill. Thread the marinated vegetables onto the skewers. Group like colors together on each skewer to resemble the pride flag, red, orange, yellow, green, (blue), purple. This also helps the veggies cook evenly!!!
  5. Grill the skewers: Place the skewers on the preheated grill and cook for about 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally to ensure even cooking. The exact cooking time may vary depending on your grill and the size of the vegetables. The vegetables should be tender and slightly charred.
  6. Serve and enjoy: Once the vegetable skewers are done, remove them from the grill and transfer them to a serving platter. You can garnish with additional fresh herbs if desired.

Secret Tip: Add an extra splash of balsamic vinegar after cooking for an extra flavorful final flourish and enjoy!!

Feel free to customize this recipe by adding other vegetables or seasonings according to your taste preferences. Use as many colorful veggies as you can find and arrange to resemble the pride flag!

Grilled veggie skewers are versatile and can be enjoyed as as a delicious and healthy side dish or as a main course with rice, salad or grilled meats.
